17-21 April

Materials Village

Milan, Design Week 17-21 April 2018: XL EXTRALIGHT® takes part again to the Materials Village, at Superstudio in Via Tortona. The installation featuring XL EXTRALIGHT® takes the form of two containers, known as viewboxes, in a concept by Matteo Ragni Studio.

The ‘Extrabox’ concept puts the focus on people who enter the XL EXTRALIGHT® world, a space that offers a sensory experience where they can discover and touch firsthand this extraordinarily versatile material with so many applications.

Visitors will have the chance to immerse themselves a space that presents the technical and expressive characteristics of this remarkable material, which more and more companies are choosing for their products. They include: O-Shoes and O-Bags by Fullspot, the Bounce Chair by Gufram, and I-ultra sun   glasses by Italia Independent.

Inside the central polycarbonate structure isthe GloveBox. Filled with colouredcompounds (the raw material from which XL EXTRALIGHT® is made), it has twoholes fitted with gloves, which visitors will be able to use to touch the XLEXTRALIGHT® objects submerged in the granules (compounds) and so discover whatproducts are made from this raw material, like in a modern-day archaeologicaldig.

The compound will be displayed in its various colours inside transparent panels that will form a sort of “chromatic equalizer”.
